The Classic Editor is an official WordPress plugin designed to restore the previous ("classic") WordPress editor and the "Edit Post" screen, enabling users to continue using plugins that extend the traditional editor and add old-style meta boxes. This plugin provides administrators with the capability to select the default editor for all users, and optionally allow individual users to change their default editor. Users can choose which editor to use for each post, and each post will open in the editor last used for it, ensuring a consistent editing experience. Moreover, Classic Editor includes several filters for other plugins to control settings and editor choices per post type, while hiding all functionality related to the new block editor ("Gutenberg"). This plugin will receive full support and maintenance from the WordPress team until at least 2024.
