Overview

DM Confirm Email is a Wordpress plugin designed to combat unwanted and spam registrations by ensuring all user accounts are only created after their email address is confirmed. The plugin sends a confirmation email to users, verifying their email addresses before completing the account creation process. Additionally, it allows admins to customize and send welcome messages with useful instructions to newly confirmed users, enhancing onboarding experiences. The plugin integrates naturally with Wordpress's registration system, leveraging native hooks to maintain compatibility with existing customizations and plugins. Key features include email verification, customizable HTML confirmation emails, the ability to resend confirmation emails, setting expiration dates for confirmation keys, and preventing resource wastage by limiting account creation to confirmed users. Users can also edit the email message containing new account passwords, adding further customization options. Future updates aim to display pending registrations needing confirmation on the Wordpress dashboard.

User sentiment analysis

Users appreciate the WordPress plugin for its simplicity, flawless performance, and easy setup. It's praised for providing necessary functionality like sending welcome emails, assisting with spam prevention, and being reliably compatible with other plugins. However, drawbacks include its lack of support for WooCommerce registrations, which forces users to check emails multiple times. Users also suggest enhancements like allowing custom shortcodes in email templates, removing

tags from template content for more freedom, and supporting custom passwords during registration. Despite these issues, the plugin is generally well-received for its effectiveness within the default WordPress environment.

This looked like exactly what I needed but after installing and testing it I’ve found it doesn’t work with registration via WooCommerce, only through the default WordPress login/registration. This makes it rather pointless because the standard WordPress registration already sends a password to the user’s email address, meaning with this plugin installed a new user has to check their email twice in order to create and log in to a new account. When registering through WooCommerce forms (which REALLY needs email confirmation) this plugin simply does nothing. I see it’s been a year since an update so it would be nice if the developer could breathe new life into this as the simplicity and functionality of this plugin would be excellent if it only worked where it was useful.

Easy to setup! Here are some improvements: 1. allow (custom) shortcodes in email templates. because i already have some for email header and footer. 2. don’t wrap email template content in <p></p>. developer need their freedom 😉 3. support for a custom password. The user should have the option to define his password while registration. thank you!
