I’ve been running my WordPress plugin business on EDD since 2014. It’s rock solid, extremely well supported, and has stood the test of time.We started with a simple payment gateway and over the years added software licensing, subscriptions, all access passes, marketing integration, invoicing, etc, etc. The upgrade path can sometimes be clunky but support are always there to help us find a way.IMHO EDD is built on engineering, not customer, foundations so some of the interfaces and workflows out of the box require some customisation to remove rough edges, but that’s achievable because the foundations are solid. I never lose sleep due to EDD.

I do not recommend this plugin if you want to use it with Stripe payment gateway. I recently came to know that in Easy digital downloads when used stripe payment gateway It gives them complete access of all your payment transactions happened through EDD. So they can access all your subscription transactions including customer details. Anybody can check their code to confirm.I would ask EDD guys to give option to your customers that if they do not want to connect their account under you in stripe.com then they must be able to do it.
Also, your support response time is more than 48 hours even for premium customers. I had contacted them even through their given email as well but they did not reply for last more than 2 days.

I recently pulled the trigger and purchased EDD/Pro. Install was easy, however, I did run into a couple of little snags. I emailed EDD support each and every time they responded within an hour, with a solution. My most recent request was a form layout issue. Again they responded quickly and offered to log in to my server and resolve it. They didn’t have to, it was a design issue, but they took the extra steps and helped me. Support is just as important as the product itself. The EDD team has been available to me every step of the way in launching my new site. Thank you EDD team!!

Our configuration of EDD was painless and we only had one small issue that was resolved quickly by Mihai. (It was an issue with a host’s preferred caching plugin, not EDD.) Compared to Woo, it is so much easier and better!

I had a problem with the translation and Mihai Joldis from support was very patient and perseverant until he helped me fix the problem.
I surely recommend the EDD plugin.
