Overview

Gumlet is an all-in-one WordPress plugin designed to streamline and perfect the image optimization process, encompassing six crucial steps within a single installation. This comprehensive tool automatically resizes images based on user screen size, employs visually lossless compression, converts images to the WebP format, and integrates lazy loading for enhanced performance. Optimized images are then cached on Gumlet's cloud and delivered through a robust CDN network powered by AWS CloudFront, which has over 215 locations worldwide. Ideal for website owners looking to boost page speed, engagement, and SEO, Gumlet ensures that images are efficiently optimized without altering the original files. The plugin works effortlessly upon installation, requiring no manual intervention, making it a high-efficiency solution for both small blogs and large-scale publishers. With a user-friendly pricing model based on CDN bandwidth consumption, extensive format support, and full integration with popular plugins like WP Rocket, Gumlet guarantees a swift and secure enhancement to your site's image handling capabilities.

User sentiment analysis

Users appreciate that Gumlet continuously improves, implementing the latest technologies to ensure fast websites and great media asset display. They rely on it for image optimization and static content delivery (CSS and JS), finding it easy to install and configure. The support team is often praised for being quick and professional. Users also value that it doesn't alter actual images, optimizing through CDN copies instead. While most reviews are positive, some have experienced issues with support responsiveness, plugin-induced site problems, and conflicts with Divi Theme Builder. Despite these drawbacks, many still recommend Gumlet for its affordability, effectiveness, and ongoing enhancements.

I’m a customer for 2 years and I have to say that Gumlet is getting better and better every month. They always implement the latest technologies available to make websites fast and media assets look great. I totally rely on it to optimize my images and static content delivery (CSS and js) to make sure my wordpress is fast. I have nothing bad to say about it. I just had a ssl problem once but it has been fixed within 2 hours. I contacted the support 5 to 10 times and I always had quick and professional answers. I recommend this product to all my clients. Gumlet doesn’t ask me to leave a review but I’m just surprised not to see more excellent ones. Keep doing a great job like this. Thanks!

I’ve yet to find “the perfect” image optimization tool and CDN but Gumlet comes close. I manage nearly 100 WordPress sites and use Gumlet more than competing tools. For sites using Divi or with complex galleries and background layouts, many image optimization plugins seem to break something. I’ve tested premium versions of Gumlet, ShortPixel Adaptive Images, WP Compress, Cloudimage, and Smush Pro. I’ve found Gumlet (and ShortPixel Adaptive Images for Divi sites) to be the most reliable for optimizing and offloading images off my server via a CDN. If anything looks off, usually I can uncheck one of the few settings and it’s resolved. I’ve had to reach out to Gumlet’s support a few times and found them to be responsive and helpful. I like how Gumlet does not alter the actual images at all. It does all the optimizations via copies stored on their CDN. Some image-optimization plugins like Smush Pro and ShortPixel (ShortPixel Adaptive Images is different) actually change and overwrite your images. That can be a bad thing to do to a client’s images (though the above mentioned options can make backups and revert things if needed). In short, I recommend Gumlet. They work, are affordable to deploy, and are regularly improving their product and management dashboard.
