Overview

The Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin is designed to help WordPress users identify and resolve common configuration errors and known issues. It provides a comprehensive diagnostic toolset, including a debug section for collecting and sharing detailed information about your WordPress and server configuration with support representatives. The troubleshooting feature allows users to simulate a clean WordPress environment by disabling all plugins and activating a default theme temporarily, ensuring that the changes are only visible to the user. Additionally, the tools section verifies the integrity of WordPress files, checks email functionality, and assesses plugin compatibility with future PHP version updates. The plugin's effectiveness and user instructions are well-documented in the WordPress.org support team handbook, and users are encouraged to provide feedback through various channels including the WordPress.org forums, GitHub, or Slack.

User sentiment analysis

Users appreciate the plugin's ability to troubleshoot conflicts between plugins and themes without disrupting the live site. It offers a convenient interface to disable plugins and themes individually, helping pinpoint issues effectively. The "troubleshooting mode" receives praise for its utility in diagnosing plugin or theme errors while keeping the site operational for visitors. However, significant drawbacks include the plugin occasionally causing sites to crash or lock in troubleshooting mode, requiring manual fixes via FTP. Users have reported difficulties exiting troubleshooting mode and a complete loss of access to the site backend. The plugin lacks robust support responses, contributing to user frustration when issues arise.

If you know what you are doing, this plugin is priceless. For some features, there are no alternatives at all.

What other people are saying this plugin does, it did to me. As so many people describe, I used it once, and when I exited troubleshooting mode, ALL MY PLUGINS STAYED DEACTIVATED. I now have to restore my site from backup! NOT COOL! This topic was modified 2 months ago by synthezoid.
