Overview

This WordPress plugin is designed to effortlessly customize the logo on your WordPress login screen. With zero configuration required, users simply need to upload their desired logo file, named login-logo.png, into the WordPress content directory, and the plugin takes care of the rest. For optimal appearance, it is recommended to use a PNG image with a transparent background, tightly cropped without padding pixels, and a width of exactly 312 pixels. While wider images will be automatically downscaled by modern browsers, adhering to the recommended dimensions ensures the best results. Additionally, this plugin is compatible with the mu-plugins directory, offering flexibility in plugin management.

  • No configuration required; simply drop the logo file into the WordPress content directory.

Simple Implementation

  • Requires only a single file named login-logo.png.
  • Works seamlessly without the need for additional settings or adjustments.

Best Practices for Image

  • Recommends using a transparent background for the PNG image.
  • Suggests cropping the image tightly with no padding pixels.
  • Advises using a width of exactly 312 pixels for optimal display.

Compatibility

  • Works in the mu-plugins directory.
  • Ensures wider images are downscaled in modern browsers, although not recommended.

User sentiment analysis

Users appreciate this WordPress plugin for its simplicity, ease of use, and reliability. It helps users customize their WordPress login screens by easily allowing them to change the login logo without any complicated configurations. Most users found that just by uploading an image to the wp-content folder, the changes they desired were applied seamlessly. The plugin is highly praised for not having unnecessary settings or uploader complications, which keeps it straightforward and fast to implement. However, a significant drawback noted by users is the need for FTP access to upload the image, which could be cumbersome for those who prefer using WordPress’s media library manager. Additionally, there were some mentions of intermittent issues with database connections caused by the plugin, leading to uninstallation by some users. Despite not being updated for years, many still report it works effectively.

Until WP drastically revamps their login structure, I predict this plugin will work seamlessly for many many versions yet to come. Since I found this plugin via Password Protected, it seems only fair to give that one a shout out as well. They work perfectly in sync together. Site access and dashboard login pages both look nice and neat, just the way I like it 🙂 Thank you!
