Overview

The Zoho Mail for WordPress plugin is designed to integrate your Zoho Mail account with your self-hosted WordPress site, enabling you to send emails securely via Zoho Mail's API. This plugin uses the OAuth 2.0 protocol for secure authentication, eliminating the need to store usernames or passwords. It customizes WordPress's PHPMailer library and utilizes the 'wp_mail' function to seamlessly manage email sending throughout the site. Key features include sending emails from the specified Zoho Mail account, ensuring emails appear in the Zoho Mail Sent folder, and providing parameters such as Client ID, Client Secret, and Authorized Redirect URI for setup. Post-configuration, the functionality can be tested through the 'Test Email' option within the plugin. This plugin not only enhances email security and delivery reliability but also maintains email authenticity by sending through authorized servers, thus safeguarding your domain's reputation.

User sentiment analysis

Users find the WordPress plugin helpful for seamless integration with Zoho Mail, enhancing ease of email communication from their WordPress sites. They appreciate the plugin's straightforward setup and effectiveness in improving email delivery and reliability, even for websites on poor hosting services. Its ability to maintain email functionality independently of web server status is also valued. However, users report significant issues, including confusion during setup due to unclear documentation, persistent "Invalid Client Secret" errors, and insufficient support. The lack of support for "reply-to" custom headers and HTML email format conversion issues are notable drawbacks, necessitating substantial time and effort to troubleshoot.

Great plugin, but missing an important feature. We like to set it up to send from a noreply@ email address, but when the user or notification email are sent out, the “reply to” address is not used, rather the noreply@ email address. This is ineffective. If this feature is added, 5 stars… until then 3 stars.

The plugin works great with your Zoho account. No issues with my site, and it was very easy to setup and pretty straight forward. This topic was modified 5 months, 4 weeks ago by lakuma.

Thanks a lot ! The plugin works OK! If it is for a wordpress “Contact form 7”:1- Install the “zoho mail” plugin, so that the Authorization Redirect URI is generated2- You must access api-console de zoho website.3- Choose the server option after entering and paste the “Authorization Redirect URI” that was generated in wordpress. With these data, the “Client Id” and the “Client Secret” that the plugin requests in the admin of the wordpress site are generated.

I spent almost one full day to find that reply-to custom header is not supported. So if you wish to set a different email to deliver the reply to, use the FluentSMTP instead of this one. Just saved you a couple of hours! Cheers!

I am a (satisfied) Zoho Mail customer and this plug-in sorted my SMTP problems from my WordPress site in an easy and graceful manner. I had to apply the configuration twice, for some reason, but worked perfectly after that. Great work Zoho!
