Overview
The Reorder Posts plugin for WordPress enhances the admin panel by adding simple drag-and-drop functionality for reordering regular and custom post-type posts. Particularly beneficial for developers familiar with menu_order or custom queries, this tool introduces a "Reorder" sub-menu to all post types by default and supports hierarchical post types, allowing users to re-nest posts. Conveniently, it auto-saves any changes to the order without requiring an update button click. The plugin also includes a settings panel to specify reorderable post types, and an advanced settings panel to customize menu order for custom queries. Additional add-ons enable users to reorder posts by term or reorder terms themselves. Developed initially for Metronet AS in Norway, it continues to be refined by Ryan Hellyer, Ronald Huereca, and Scott Basgaard.

Thank you very much for this. The use case fits perfectly for developers indeed. It doesn’t pollute the front-end’s default view and only works when specified within custom queries. Exactly what I needed.

The posts were in no particular order when in settings. Was expecting them to be ordered by date like they are in “all posts”.
It was random and the other settings wasn’t able to adjust that.
