Overview

The "Editor-friendly blocks" plugin enhances the Gutenberg editor by introducing utility-focused blocks to streamline the publishing process in WordPress. Primarily, it provides a "Todo List" block that allows editors to integrate and manage tasks directly within the post editor, maintaining the context of their workflow. This feature helps users keep track of tasks or create a publishing checklist, ensuring all necessary steps—such as adding headlines, featured images, and social images—are completed before publishing. Additionally, the plugin supports transforming various block types (like paragraphs and lists) into actionable todo items and allows the merging of multiple blocks into a single todo list. Keyboard shortcuts facilitate quick insertion of these todo blocks, enhancing the overall efficiency of content creation.

User sentiment analysis

The plugin is praised for its efficient workflow and reliable performance. Users appreciate its lightweight nature, as the zip file is only 16kb, which prevents bloat. However, some desired features are missing, such as options for font size and color customization per list item, front-end display, and the ability to indent list items for categorization. Despite these limitations, the plugin remains highly useful, earning a strong 5-star rating from users.

It works as advertised, I just wish there were some more features such as: – Font size & font color options (per list item). – Option to also display on the front end. – Option to indent each list item, so we can have “category” items. This (maybe) would not be necessary if we had the choice to change the font color and size per list item. On the other hand, this plugin as it is, is still very useful, and the zip file is only 16kb, so adding things in and multiplying the file size by a a lot, may be it won’t be worth it. Nevertheless, I am sticking to my 5 star rating for this.
