I have the issue reported here 7 months ago: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/twitter-account-authorization-not-working/
There’s no answer, so apparently the plugin doesn’t work and is not supported.

Plugin is Hacked and not maintained, do not use

Unable to get it to work (“Could not recognize the response from Twitter”), unlike other Twitter plugins which take the Consumer/API keys just fine. Developer has said it’s not being updated, so I’d save yourself some time and look elsewhere.

This was a great plugin but it’s hit end of life, developer says it’s no longer supported or maintained.
