I have the issue reported here 7 months ago: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/twitter-account-authorization-not-working/ There’s no answer, so apparently the plugin doesn’t work and is not supported.

Unable to get it to work (“Could not recognize the response from Twitter”), unlike other Twitter plugins which take the Consumer/API keys just fine. Developer has said it’s not being updated, so I’d save yourself some time and look elsewhere.

This was a great plugin but it’s hit end of life, developer says it’s no longer supported or maintained.
