New AI tool that can simplify social media content creation
An entrepreneur's perspective
I’ve been in the AI business for more than 7 years.
I’ve seen AI win against humans in the most complicated games.
First, Deep Blue won a chess game for the first time against Garry Kasparov in 1996.
Then, AlphaGo defeated Lee Sedon in the game of Go in 2016.
Impressive, right?
When thinking about the “AI vs. humans” battle, we often forget that AI and human brain operate differently.
AI systems like DeepMind use brute force to identify the winning strategy from tens of thousands of possible combinations.
Meanwhile, grandmasters like Garry Kasparov use their brain capacity to find the winning strategy out of an extremely low number of strategies. Maybe 100s of combinations at most. And yet, they keep winning game after game.
That’s how the human brain works. Our limitations can also be our strengths.
Anthropic, a company founded by former OpenAI research executives, has launched Claude 3, its latest chatbot and suite of AI models, boasting unprecedented speed and power. Backed by industry giants Google, Salesforce, and Amazon, Anthropic has secured a total of $7.3 billion in funding through five separate deals in the past year.
Claude 3 introduces groundbreaking features, including the ability to summarize lengthy texts of up to 150,000 words, surpassing ChatGPT's capabilities by a significant margin. Additionally, Anthropic has integrated support for image and document uploads, marking a significant advancement in the functionality of AI-powered chatbots.
Particle.news, a startup led by ex-Twitter engineers, has entered private beta with a mission to revolutionize how people consume news and information. Spearheaded by Sara Beykpour, former Senior Director of Product Management at Twitter, and co-founded by Marcel Molina, Particle.news offers a personalized news reading experience powered by AI. The platform not only summarizes news articles but also aims to ensure fair compensation for authors and publishers. However, Particle's business model remains undisclosed.
The startup's emergence comes amid concerns about AI's impact on the news ecosystem, as summarized news could potentially reduce traffic to publishers' websites and affect advertising revenue. Beykpour's vision for Particle.news is to leverage AI to simplify news consumption in an era of information overload.
Sam Altman, CEO and co-founder of OpenAI, has been reinstated to the company's board of directors following an external investigation into the circumstances surrounding his abrupt firing and subsequent rehiring in November. The investigation, conducted by law firm WilmerHale, concluded that Altman's removal stemmed from a breakdown in trust between him and the previous board, rather than any misconduct on his part.
Initially ousted due to concerns about communication transparency, Altman was swiftly reinstated as CEO after significant internal upheaval, including the resignation of board chair Greg Brockman.Altman's return to the board marks a resolution to the internal turmoil at OpenAI and reaffirms his leadership role within the organization.
